The Solomon family can trace their entrepreneurial roots to the early 1920’s. Boutrouss Solomon immigrated to the United States and opened the first Solomon’s grocery store in Jacksonville, Florida. His son, George, worked alongside him in the grocery business until entering the US Navy.
In 1944, after serving in the military, George continued the family business by opening his own store and expanding into freight salvage. George’s oldest son, Raymond, grew up working in the salvage business. After graduating from Newberry College and serving in the Navy, Raymond returned home to work with his father in the business.
Today, Raymond and his son Kelly, a licensed auctioneer, continue the tradition of bringing bargains to the children and grandchildren of the families that have been loyal customers to the Solomon family.
Raymond and Kelly operate their freight salvage business from 2 locations conveniently located in Jacksonville, Florida. They not only buy and sell wholesale and retail, but they also conduct auctions inside their 80,000 square foot warehouse.
The Solomon’s attribute their success to Honesty, Loyalty, and Friendly Service. At Solomon Ventures, you receive great deals at bargain prices!
